“We wanted to bring in some
richness
and dark tones.

STACY CARLSON

. FOCAL-POINT POWER Grass cloth on the
walls acts as a mini print and provides an
earthy backdrop for a dramatic black hutch.
“Adding that tiny bit of texture lends more
interest than paint,” Carlson says.

. REPEATING THEME Candle sconces with
mirrored accents display a graphic leaf motif
that echoes the curtain fabric.
6. PALETTE PAIRING The secret to blending
patterns is color consistency. “We kept our
palette to brown, cream, and green,” Carlson
says. “You can use a lot of different patterns
in a room, but you don’t want to use a lot of
pattern
and
a lot of color.”
